Blend Modes take the pixels of one layer and blend them with the pixels of the layer beneath it.

In Creator, Blend Modes can be adjusted on both layer types - Surfaces and Assets (effects, generators, imported videos, and images). By default, the Blend Mode of a layer is set to Normal.

The way that layers blend in each mode is determined by an algorithm that applies calculations to the pixels on the layers. You can use Blend Modes to create layered visuals that generate new and compelling combinations using existing assets.

How to adjust the Blend Mode

  1. Add two or more assets to a Surface (e.g. built-in assets: Plasma and Yinyang)

Inherit Alpha

This button is a modifier for Blend Modes and when activated, it will apply a mask of the base layer's shape to all layers above it. This is most commonly used to add effects and visuals to text.
